I had a little book reading event in Walton NY a couple of weeks ago.
I wasn't sure how much interest the kids would have in Japan though, they got very vocal about questions my husband and I asked. "What's famous in Japan?" "Mt.Fuji!", "What's the most famous food in Japan?" "Sushi!" :-)

In Japan, having food and drinks in the library is out of question, but I loved seeing the kids having a piece of pizza while they listened to my stories. I read The Fantastic Mr.Wani and my Japanese book about two mice traveling to the country of pizza. Interestingly, most of the kids liked the pizza story more. They must have been happy to connect the story and themselves.

If there's another chance like this in the future, I would love to meet more kids abroad again!
