前回の日記ですんごい張り切ってましたが、花鳥園は延期に…オウ・ノ〜！
ま、、、まあいいや。
楽しみがちょっとのびただけなのだ。花鳥園はどこにも逃げないのだ〜。
明日は、新刊の色校正（仮刷り）第２弾が届きます。色がどんな感じで出てくるのか…キンチョー＆たのしみです。
どうも発売日は少しずれそうです。またしっかり決まったらお知らせしまーす。

ペーーーーーン！
明日は久しぶりにスケッチ目的で、花鳥園っていうところに行きます。青春１８切符で。１８切符バンザイ。これさえあればどこでも行きますよ、私は。今度これで貧乏旅行したいな〜。花鳥園というのは、静岡県掛川にある大きな鳥と花のテーマパークってところでしょうか。日本に帰国してからずっと行ってみたかったので、かなりテンションがあがってて、昨日は持っていく画材を少し買い足しちゃいました。
無印で見つけたこのぶっといペン！直径1.5センチくらい。「わ〜これで線かいたら超太い線が引けそう♥」などと思い購入。しかも３０％引き。ラッキ！
家に帰って試してみると、思ったより線は太くなかったものの、やっぱり普通のペンよりは太くて、意味はないけど買ってよかったと満足。
アイデアって机に座って出て来るもんでもない。外に出てなんぼなので、これから１ヶ月はとにかく外に出て絵を描きたいです。もうちとあったかくなってくれたらな〜
I'm going to a supposed-to-be-huge botanic garden tomorrow. I don't know much about it , but apparently they have lots of birds too. I love to draw pictures of birds of prey! I think they are soooooo cool.
When I was in uni, I used to go out and draw outdoor. That was when I got inspiration, and ideas. It's a shame but the longer I've worked as an illustrator, the less opportunities I get to sketch. Since I finished my latest book, I've got plenty of free time now. I like to make the most of it while I can to improve my drawing skills!
I just found these giant pens at Muji. They'll be great companions at the garden. I can't wait to relax and have a good time drawing!Hope it will be sunny!

ほんとうにありがとう☆
実はこれまで絵本作家活動と並行して、子供と大人の英語力を上げるお手伝いをする人をやってました。
１年半勤めたこの仕事も今月で終わりです。今週はさよならをたくさん言わないといけなくて、とってもさみしかったです。やっぱり仲良くなってからお別れするのはつらいです〜！
大人社会をすべてイギリスで学んだ私にとって、言葉遣いとか礼儀とか何とか、未知すぎて、初めの方はてんてこまいの日々。でも、とってもいい勉強になりました。たくさんいい人に出会えました。本当にありがたい。
I'm quitting a job I've kept for a year and a half.
I've been teaching English to both kids and adults. This was my first ever job I had in Japan. Because I spent my entire 20s in England, it was tough for me to adjust things at the beginning.
Though it was great to meet so many people I wouldn't have met if I were just doing illustration. I learnt so much out of the job.
At the beginning teaching English was just a job to get supplementary income though I built up great relationship with kids and others. It wasn't easy for me to say good bye to them.

よせがきって、めちゃくちゃうれしすぎる！ズっキューン！ズキュン！Look at those hand made message boards! They are my treasure.

わくわく
先週、新刊の色校正が届きました。色校正とは、まあ試し刷りみたいなもん？実際に描いた絵が本の形になってくると、どあー！っとテンションが急上昇しちゃいます。むふふ。
この色校をチェックした後、文を少し変更して、今は色校正パート２が届くのを待っている段階です。私が羽を伸ばしてしまっている間に、担当さんは本当にがんばってくださっています。お手伝いしたくてもできないのでちょっぴりもどかしいです。
また来月にお会いする時にしっかりお礼を言いたい！
I got the first proof of my new book last week! Yay!
This is one of the most exciting parts in book making. It's great to see all the illustrations to get together and actually shaped as a book! My editor and I tweaked the text, and now the printer's printing the second proof. I can't wait to see it!

Bob Dylan at Zepp Nagpya
昨日はボブ・ディランのライブに行ってきました〜。
観客はかなり年齢層高め。「もう６０代だけど、ディランを追いかけ続けてついに世の中の流れに乗れなかった」っていう感じのおっちゃんたちもチラホラ（笑）
ディランは、自分の曲を譜面通りに歌わないとか、昔の曲も全てアレンジしすぎてるので歌詞を聞かないと何の曲か分からない、ということは友人からきいて 知っていたのですが、ほんっとーに、ちがう曲やんか！とツッコミたくなるくらい原型なし。とはいえ、６８で２時間MCゼロで歌い続けるってすごいと思います。
でも落ち着いた観客層だったおかげで、今回は押されなかったし、肘鉄もなく平和な２時間でした。大学生くらいの男の子２人は、ずーっと小刻みにジャンプしてて、さずがって思いました。
ライブハウスは気合いと体力勝負ですね〜！
I went to Bob Dylan's gig at Zepp Nagoya last night!
I managed to get the ticket in Jan, but quite a few people were hanging round the venue asking for unwanted tickets. I guess every one was feeling this could be one of his last tours in Japan!
My friend told me that Dylan never follows his original music, and so it's difficult to recognise what he's singing, I thought "No way! I'm sure he'll sing alright" though, it was true! His performance was far from the original pieces! I was a bit shocked. But well... he's 68 and has probably played the popular pieces thousands of times. I understand he wants changes.
Still, I wanted to hear what I was listening to!
But still... It was special to see Dylan that close, and he called us "friends"! :-)

チャリンコ
最近ずーっと朝から晩までパソコンで作業していたので、すっかり運動不足になってしまいました。
なので「とりあえずチャリンコでぶらぶらしてこよう」と思って出発。
これが間違いでした。
なぜなら春の風はめちゃくちゃ強い！見事に向かい風に向かって自転車をこぐはめになり、花粉症もかさなって鼻も出るし目もかゆいしで、帰ってきた時にはぐったりでした。
春の風はあまくなかった〜。
なので「とりあえずチャリンコでぶらぶらしてこよう」と思って出発。

お祭り
同僚KとSとで犬山へ。
「おもしろいお祭りがあるから一緒に行こう」とアメリカ人Kが言うのでいそいそと出かけてみると、かなりなインパクトのお祭りがやっていました。
知る人ぞ知る、だと思います。歴史は相当古いみたいですね。思ったよりずっと神聖なお祭りでした。
お祭りって久しぶりで、私はそっちよりも屋台で食べることの方が楽しくてウキウキしました。作りたて揚げたてのヒレカツサンドが売っていて、すごいボリュームなのに、そして屋台なのに４００円でびっくりしました。かなり激安です。あんまりおいしくて写真を撮るのも忘れてしまいました。
久しぶりの日帰り旅行（？）で楽しかったです。
I went to Inuyama city today for a festival with two of my colleagues.
The festival is apparently written in every guide book sold abroad! It's to celebrate fertility and the miniature shrine has quite an impact. I won't write anything more about it here, but it was pretty fascinating!
Actually I was more interested in stalls of food and games. It's a shame I didn't photograph the stalls. I was having too much fun! Bigger the festival is, the more and more stalls get set up. They sell sweets, noodles, pancakes, sausages and more. It's just nice to buy bits of food and share them outside.
The festival season's coming soon, so I'll try to go to as many festivals as possible this year!

確定申告
いつもいつもいつもいっつも何事につけてもlast minuteな私。（〆切直前で行動する人）
確定申告も、〆切は明日だけど明日は出かけるから、まあ今日の夕方やればいいやと思ってました。テレビでさんざんどれほどe-taxは簡単か、ということも言っていたので、私もネットで送っちゃおうと思ってたわけです。
今日になって知ったこと。
「e-taxを使うには、事前に役場でIDをもらわないといけない。」
なにーーー？！ぜんぜん簡単じゃないじゃないか。っていうか、もっと前にちゃんと確認しておくべきだったんだけど、でも言わせてもらえばテレビではそんなこと言ってなかった気がする。私が聞き逃してた？
仕方がないから郵送だな、と思ったのはいいのですが、はたして１５日消印有効なのかが分からない。テンぱる私を前に家族は「いつものことだ」くらいの反応しかしてくれない。（ため息はしっかり聞こえた）
もう大人なんだし、もうちょっとしっかりしたいなあ。
いろいろ調べたら、どうやら消印有効なのだそうで、明日無事に投函できそうです。でも私的に１日くらい送れたって、待っていてくれると思うんだけどな〜、っと言うとまた家族に「それはイギリスでしか通じない」と言われてしまうのです。わはは。

つ＊く＊し
１０年ぶりにつくしを食べました！カンドー。おいしかったです〜。久しぶりに散歩に行ったら、たくさん食べごろのつくしがあったのです。必死にとったらこんなになった！でも、とるのは楽しいんだけどハカマをとるのが面倒なんですよね〜。でも食べたいしな〜。１年に一回だし、がんばるか！と気合いを入れて取りました。去年は一足おそくて、つくしの存在に気づいた時には、もうつくしの頭は開きすぎてたんですよね。だから今年は食べられてうれしい。
つくしはウマい！
仕事場の目の前を、今日はたくさんの獣たちが通っていきました。ヒヨドリ、スズメ、モズ、いたち、のらねこ。すっごくカジュアルに、警戒心ゼロで私の目の前を通っていかれます。
私、完全にムシされてます。もうちょっと怖がってくれてもいいんじゃ…（笑）
I've picked lots of horsetails today.
Horsetails are perfect for stir frying, and they are taken as seasonal food in Japan. Though I guess less and less people actually eat them now. The head bits are bitter, but they are very nice when cooked with egg.
It's getting milder in Japan. I guess the cherry blossom season is coming up shortly. The sun's getting brighter and the day's getting longer. It's nice to see the change of the season visually, and it's lovely to eat something that we can get only in this season.
BTW I see so many different kinds of wildlife when I'm working. There's a big window right in front of my desk, so it's fun to see them walking across my garden.
Today I saw... bulbuls, sparrows, a butcher bird, a weasel and a stray cat. They were paying absolutely no attention to me! Shouldn't they be afraid of human? :-)

やったー！
ひィひィいいながらも、４月出版の絵本の〆切、間に合いました！
後は表紙うらの部分などをやって、色を調節したらできあがりです。
や、や、や、やったどー！
今回の絵本、やりたいことをつめこんだものになってます。たくさんの人に、こどもに届けたい！仕事量としては、「とべとべあひるの３きょうだい」の３倍くらい、でも使える時間は「とべとべ〜」の３分の２くらいでした。大変だったけど、やりきった達成感でいっぱいです。
また出版日など、後ほどくわしくお知らせしますね！
今一番のぞむのは、ぼーーーーーっと１日過ごしたり、仕事の心配なしでお出かけすることです。来週からそういう時間もチラホラでてくるはず。待ち遠しい！
I've been working harder than ever for the past few months to meet the deadline for my new book. The amount of work I had to do for this book was about three times more than that of my last book, though I had about two third of the time I could spend for the last one.
It wasn't easy at all, but I made it!
The proof will be done by the next week. After adjusting some colours and stuff, all the art works will be ready to be sent to the printer! I can't wait to see the book!
What I really really want now, is a day to chill out without worrying about work. Ahhhh! I can't wait!

久しぶりに・・・
２年ぶりに寝込んでしまいました。
しかも〆切の週に…（汗）
なんとか〆切を伸ばして頂いたので、体力復活した今週が山場です！
４月に新作を届けられるようがんばるのみ！
イギリスの本も見本が届いたので、テンションあがりました。やっぱり本の形になると達成感１００倍アップですね。このイギリスの本の出版はまだ来年なのですが、今から楽しみです。
さあ、仕事にもどりまーす。
しかも〆切の週に…（汗）
