千種区 メルヘンハウス

今日は、名古屋・千種にある絵本専門店
メルヘンハウスさんへ行ってきました。

日本で最初の絵本専門店で、
世界で２番目とか！
でも世界で１番に開店した
イギリスの専門店が閉店したので、
メルヘンハウスさんが世界で
一番歴史があるそうです！

すごい！

よく絵本売場は本がぐちゃぐちゃに
なってしまっているのですが、
ここの本棚は本当にきれいで、
きちんと整頓されていて、
見ていて気持ちがいい〜。
陳列もカテゴリーごとに別れていて、
とても分かりやすい。

絵本売場って、
かなり荒れていることが多いのですが、
本棚がきれいだと 小さな子どもでも
「本は大切に扱うもの」ということを
学んでくれるかもしれないですね。

新刊のマロンとメロンも
店長さんに見て頂きました。
店長さん、とってもいい人です。

また行きたいです。

I went to a children's bookshop,
"Meruhen house" in Nagoya today.
This bookshop is the first childrens' book specialist in Japan, and the second oldest in the world!!

It's a magical space for both authors and book lovers.
I've seen so many messy children's book sections of bookshops both in Japan and the UK.
I feel very sad to see books torn or left on the floor.

But here, in Meruhen house, bookshelves are neat and tidy.
I could see the staff's love on books and the care they take.
When books are treated well, I think even little children realise books should be taken care well.

I'm glad I went there today.
I'm definitely going again and again.
