今日は、アクアウォーク大垣の中の大垣こども図書館で、本よみでした！
びっくりするくらい子どもたちは
じーっと集中して聞いてくれました。
口が半開きでかわいかった（笑）
やっぱり絵本に慣れ親しんでいる
子供は集中力が違いますね〜。
絵本が好きな子は、想像力が育つ気がします。
想像力のある子は思考力も育つので、
これをこういう風にしたら
こうなるんじゃないか、ということが
考えられるんではないかな。
指示されたことはそつなくこなすけど、
自分から何かをやってみる、ということが
少ない現代日本人の傾向を改善するにも
絵本って一役買えるんじゃないかと思うんです。
ある知り合いの方で高校生のお子さんを
お持ちの方が、「やっぱり小さい時に絵本を
読んでいたからか、空想上手・発想上手で、
それがこの子の強みになっているようです」
とおっしゃっていたのが印象的でした。
絵本って、まだまだ可能性があると思う。
そんな絵本を創らせてもらえる私はしあわせもんです。
子どもたちに会うと、
「まだまだ創りたい絵本がたくさんある！」
って思います。そんなパワーをもらいますよ♥

I had a book reading and signing at a library today.
Most of the kids were younger than pre school age,
but I was very impressed how long they could keep
focused! None of them moved while I read three books!
It's amazing for the those ages.
It was so cute to see some of them with their mouth
half-opened. :-)
I really think kids should be read books more.
Those kids who are used to books behave much better
than who aren't.
Japanese people work neatly and we are good at
working with instructions. But I think we should be
more active, and more productive.
I don't know if anyone would agree with this, but
I think books definitely help kids grow imagination,
therefore they become more productive, hopefully.
I think picture books are the first, and the best
education for young kids!
I'm very lucky to be involved in such important stage
of young lives.
